Professor Camile Farah, Head of School/Director (OHCWA)

Professor Farah obtained his undergraduate dental degree from the University of Western Australia (1996), and practiced dentistry while completing a PhD in Oral Pathology & Immunology (2000), and his specialist MDSc training in diagnostic Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology (2002) at the University of Queensland (UQ). He gained further experience in oral diagnostic sciences in Oral Medicine at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London with Professor Stephen Porter and Dr Tim Hodgson (2004). He is the Head of the School of Dentistry, Director of the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia, Professor of Oral Oncology, Director of the Australian Centre for Oral Oncology Research & Education, and a Specialist in Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology. The Australian Centre for Oral Oncology Research & Education (ACORE) leverages his academic, clinical and industry partnerships for the advancement of oral oncology translational research, personalized patient care, patient and clinician education and professional development and overall advocacy for patients with head and neck cancer.

Professor Farah has many years’ experience in administration, financial management, strategic planning, budget allocation, change management, supervision and mentoring of staff with formal training in Executive Leadership and Management with a Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership from UQ Business School (2013) majoring in Organisational Change Management, Negotiation, Strategy and Leadership of Teams and People. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (2005) with a particular interest in embedding technology in curriculum.
