Dr Janice Lally

Now Curator of Public Programs at UWA Museums, Janice Lally has been a art museum and gallery director, curator, and independent consultant and writer in the arts, crafts, design, and cultural heritage sectors since 1990.

Prior to that, as a Master of Clinical Biochemistry (1980, Flinders University) she was a researcher in medical science for nearly 20 years. She was awarded a PhD in the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Melbourne in 2003 for research titled: The Australian Aboriginal Collection in the Museum of Ethnography, Berlin and the making of cultural identity.

Janice has curated and managed over 50 exhibitions of contemporary art, craft and design and overseen over 100 public art projects nationally and internationally.
