SPEAKER - Peter Derbyshire

Mr Peter Derbyshire

Peter Derbyshire is a PhD candidate studying the cardiac innervation patterns in reptiles at the University of Western Australia. Peter received his bachelor’s degree in Zoology from UWA in 2011.

During his time as a postgraduate student at UWA Peter has been involved at student representation as an Ordinary Committee member in the PSA in 2013 and then the Vice-President (Research) in the PSA in 2014. During 2015 Peter was also the Policy and Research Advisor for the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations working on higher education policy on a federal level.

Peter is currently the Postgraduate Students’ Association President and one of his goals during this year is to ensure that postgraduate students are better presented to industry as the leaders and innovators that the Australian economy needs for the future.
