Dr Colleen Fisher is a Professor in the School of Population Health.
Her main research interest is in the area of domestic and family violence, including experiences and its impacts across the life-span, cross culturally and in refugee contexts; service and support responses, and co-morbid conditions.
She has undertaken a range of multidisciplinary international research projects on issues related to domestic and family violence and has been the lead investigator on evaluations of domestic violence support service and interventions, including those in refugee background communities.
Colleen has given a keynote addresses on her research at national and international conferences, published widely and supervised a number of Honours, Maters and PhD students examining the issue.
Prof Fisher has also been a member on a range of related Government panels including the WA ‘Safe at Home’ ” Development and Implementation Panel, Family and Domestic Violence Homicide Review Panel and the WA State Government- Advisory Group on Family and Domestic Violence Prevention and Early Intervention.
