Inga grew up in Norway, and came to Australia initially as an international student. She holds a Bachelor of Business (with Honours) and a Master of Business (Finance). Her honours and masters theses concern the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial asset characteristics. She began working for the Economics department at UWA in 2005, assisting with teaching across various undergraduate units. She has since specialised in the teaching of large first-year units, and in particular microeconomics and quantitative methods.
Inga is very passionate and enthusiastic about her teaching, which is consistently well-received by students, and has received numerous nominations for teaching awards. Her interest in economics is driven by a desire for understanding how people behave – particularly when faced with economic choices, and has recently completed a PhD on the economic analysis of happiness and satisfaction. She has five journal publications to date, two of which are from her PhD thesis (both in ERA/ABDC A-ranked journals). She is currently working on publishing further from her thesis work, as well as other collaborative projects. Her wider research interests include various aspects of labour economics, health economics, welfare economics and the economics of education.
Inga currently sits on the Business School Ethics Committee. She is a member of the Economics Society of Australia (currently a council member of the WA branch), as well as the Young Economists Network. She has acted as a referee for several high-ranking journals, both Australian and International.
